Point Arena to Pigeon Point (San Francisco)

SEASON IS CLOSED UNTIL SPRING 2017


We are in the R&D stage of trolling for salmon while kiteboarding.  When the pursuit is successful, lessons will be offered.  Until then, we will update the status here.  A trial run with baited hook in the water ended up losing the lure to the weeds.  Currently engineering a way to unhook, our goal is to hook the kite bar to the board for more range of motion with the rod and net when a fish strikes.

Proof of concept trials
    Board taken out with paddle in surf
    Board taken out with kite, returned upwind
    Board taken out without kite to confirm depthfinder function
    Board kited out with all gear/equivalent
    Baiting hooks and dropping line on the open water    Kite idled for duration of mock bite, time to reel in and land and/or rebait

That last board mod and POC trial in grey are critical.  As soon as we can set aside the kite bar but keep it flying, everything is feasible.
